Garlic Honey Chicken

  • 6 chicken thighs, bone in or out
  • Salt and pepper, to season
  • 1/4 cup water (or chicken broth)
  • 2 tablespoons rice wine vinegar 
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder, to season
  • 6 cloves garlic, crushed
  • 1/3 cup honey

Directions

1. Garlic powder, salt, and pepper are used to season the chicken.
Chicken breast or thigh fillets should be seared on both sides until brown and cooked through in a skillet or pan that has been heated to medium-high heat.

2. Once the chicken has been seared on all sides, lower the heat, cover the skillet with a lid, and cook the chicken, turning it over every five minutes, until it is well cooked.

3. Alternately, refer to the oven procedure in the notes.
Remove the majority of the extra oil from the pan and squeeze the remaining 2 tablespoons for flavor.

4. When chicken is finished and well cooked, place it skin-side up in the pan (if using skin), add the garlic, and heat until fragrant (about 30 seconds). Add the vinegar, soy sauce, honey, and water. Turn up the heat to medium-high, then continue to boil the sauce until it slightly thickens (about 3-4 minutes).


Serve with parsley garnish and Aegean pasta.
