Classic Margherita Pizza

There’s nothing more comforting than a homemade pizza straight out of the oven! This classic Margherita pizza features a crispy crust, vibrant tomato sauce, creamy mozzarella, and fresh basil leaves—simple ingredients, maximum flavor. Ingredients

  • Pizza dough (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1/2 cup tomato sauce
  • 8 oz fresh mozzarella, sliced
  • Fresh basil leaves
  • Olive oil, for drizzling
  • Salt, to taste

 

Directions

  1. Preheat your oven to 500°F (260°C) and place a pizza stone or baking sheet inside to heat.
  2. Roll out your pizza dough on a floured surface into your desired shape.
  3. Spread the tomato sauce evenly over the dough, leaving a small border for the crust.
  4. Add slices of fresh mozzarella evenly across the pizza.
  5. Transfer the pizza onto the hot stone or baking sheet and bake for 8-10 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbling.
  6. Remove from the oven, top with fresh basil leaves, and drizzle with a little olive oil. Sprinkle with salt for extra flavor.
  7. Slice, serve, and enjoy while it’s hot!

 

Chef’s Tip: For a wood-fired oven effect, broil the pizza for 1-2 minutes at the end to get a lightly charred crust.
